Dyno Day 1

June 1, 2003

Dyno 1

The summer of 2003 seemed to be plagued with rain every weekend here in the Northeast. The Sunday of the first organized CT Dyno day was no exception with the skies remaining cloudy with off and on rain all day.

The day started with many of the enthusiasts meeting for breakfast at Friendly’s Restaurant in Southington, CT, and caravaning up to Unlimited Motorsports Dyno facility in South Windsor CT (a short distance off route 5).

The facility is an excellent spot with loads of parking in a industrial park. The owners had just opened the facility, (a full service auto shop with Dyno, auto restoration, paint booth and engine building facilities) and greeted the Duramax, 6.5 and 6.2 enthusiasts with open arms. The owners Chad and Eric are first class and made everyone feel very welcome. The host’s graciously  provided a barbecue early in the afternoon for all participants.

The dyno is a Dyno Jet with optic sensor and most available bells and whistles. Participants took many runs, changing configuration of computer chip boxes, air filters , overdrive locked in or out , well you get the idea !. The results were suprising and impressive.

The event broke up around 6 PM, and headed to Chili’s in Manchester for supper. Participants came from Vermont, Long Island, Boston, NY, Rhode Island, Western Mass and Connecticut.

Dyno results can be found over at "the dieselplace.com."
