Our First Get Together
The first annual NEDGT was held the last weekend of September 2002
in the Northwest hills of CT at Cornwall Bridge. What started out as
a stormy weekend of rain cleared showing off the areas colorful vistas
of New England scenery. 
The weekend began with a pot luck supper at host and event planner Terry’s home at 6pm on Friday evening. Although the weather outside was cold and rainy, the athmosphere inside was totally the opposite.
Participants traded stories of their adventures with their GM diesel trucks – from meeting others at truck events nation wide, their good and bad experiences with Chevy and GMC dealers, their favorite tire, shock, beer, trailer hitch, color….. or whatever.
The wives and girlfriends also traded tales about shopping experiences, potluck recipes, cleaning their husband / boyfriend / significant other ‘s truck, packing and kids.
Saturday morning breakfast was at Caralees Restaurant in downtown Kent, CT. Weekend participants packed the restaurant enjoying bountiful cups of coffee along with traditional New England breakfast fare.
A too short visit to the Stanley / Sloane museum (a mile north of Kent) followed along with its annual antique machinery festival.
