GET TOGETHER 2007

The GET TOGETHER is a combination of various activities throughout the annual event weekend.

Friday evening's Potluck Supper and Ice breaker

is a popular start for the weekend with our out of town guests. The evening, hosted by Terry and his folks provides a comfortable setting to relax , enjoy some fantastic and always bountiful cusine , and get to know a few of the fellow enthusiasts. (be sure to check the receipes page ! )

Flowing as freely as the food (or maybe more so ) are the various conversations around the dining room table and in the buffet line."Tranny" Tom and Glenn arrived around 5:30 pm, in their newly aquired Chevy big block Winnebego . They were not quite sure if bringing their motel room on wheels would actually work out to be less expensive - but promised that by next year's get together the big bread box on wheels will be powered by Duramax /Allison.

Electric cords and 200ft of water hose were quickly hooked up, while all got caught up on each other's lives since they last met.

Danny and Sandy arrived shortly after 6:00 pm with a big pot of chili in hand. New duramax owners, they have owned their D/A since early spring and had lots of questions, particularly one concerning a snowplow on a crew cab.

Dan and Sandy (son/father) live a short distance north on US 7 Kent Rd, and if you have ever spotted the famous painted frog rock on the west side of the road, well its part of their front yard.

Conversation around the dinner table concerned turbo cool down, and how the bearings and oil are kept cool, fuel additives , how often oil should be changed and a lot of other topics as well. (not neccessarily about trucks)

Nick the third of the Montreal "trio" still had not arrived. After a few cell phone calls we found Nick had "detoured" to Hartford,CT and was now back in the NY "Capital region". Tom and Terry tried to figure out landmarks over the phone, so that Nick had reliable directions. Yup, he arrived a few hours late, tired but his usual friendly and polite self. Everyone was in bed by midnight.

We all had a busy Saturday ahead of us.
