Saturday
afternoon - Warren Woods Lunch
After
a busy morning touring the truck museum, Patty lead the group through
the beautiful country side of lower Litchfield county up to the
Warren hills and Warren Woods.Besides catching up with old buddies
(or making new ones) the cookout was the first order of the afternoon.
Being
at Warren Woods we had a dining hall with floor, roof and walls
this year. Although we have always had a place to sit and eat the
NEDGT was able to stretch its legs this year. Participants could
relax inside the dining hall , eat on the outdoor patio or tailgate-
it as has happened in most years past.
WORKSHOPS
If
you left the NEDGT with unanswered questions about your GM diesel
truck most likely you didn’t ask them. or had some excuse
to stay home.
The 2007 get together saw the number of workshops expanded to three:
Biodiesel, EFI Live and
Allison Transmission. The presenters were
all qualified experts in the workshops they gave with many miles
and hours of real world experience on the road and racetrack with
the Duramax and 6.5 / 6.2 engines.
BIODIESEL
workshop
The presenter of this years
biodiesel workshop was a first time participant at the Get Together,
Doug Smith. Hailing from central New Hampshire he helped to found
New Hampshire' s biodiesel activist organizations.
EFI LIVE
workshop
Perhaps
one of the hottest and most successfull upgrade programs for the
GM Duramax is EFI Live. Tony Martino of Ridge Runner Diesel LLC
is a leader in writing code for this performance enhancement.
Tony with the help of Jerry Deprey kept participants fully engaged
with his introductory presentation on EFI live. Through the use
of a multi media display of charts, graphs and a question answer
session Tony helped participants gain a basic understanding of what
Efi live could and couldn’t do. You can contact Tony at Ridge

ALLISON
TRANSMISSION workshop
Unfortunately,
due to some family issues our originally scheduled presenter for
the Allison workshop was unable to attend.
To our rescue came Glen and Tom from FINE Tuning Transmissions out
of Montréal, Que.
Glen
and Tom discussed the transmission “INS and OUTS’ and
specific issues with interested participants. Time constraints forced
this workshop to be cut short, although Tom and Glen were happy
to talk with anyone throughout the weekend. Fine Tuning Transmissions

SHOW
and SHINE
2007 was the first year for a structured Show and Shine with classes,
prizes and trophies. Patricia Hilario volunteered to head up this
very popular event at the annual get together. Participants were
given two classes to pick from at registration.
Work trucks: Driven everyday and had minimum changes
done to them, were not “lifted” more than 3 inches.
Toy Trucks: Had major changes and lifts over 3
inches and not driven daily.
Which class a truck fit into final determination could be made by
the GTG staff.
The majority of the entrants could have entered either class. None
of the trucks were “trailer queens” although Walter
Sergio’s green 04 GMC Sierra crew cab dually did qualify looks
wise, however performance wise check out the drag racing pictures
for a big surprise!
Prizes included a bucket of goodies – which included micro
fibre wash cloths, a bottle of anti gel diesel additive and a large
flashlight for the two runners up winners.
The First place winners received a large trophy to proudly display.
Entered trucks were assigned a number and winners were chosen by
popular vote through written ballots. Participants and GTG staff
were eligible to enter the show and shine.
The winners were Gary Sutherland with his red “lowered”
04 Chevy Silverado in the Toy Truck class and Patricia Hilario in
her charcoal gray 03 Chevy crew cab dually in the Work Truck class.
Patricia’s truck sees regular duty towing horse trailers for
her equine business.
